Following instructions
There are quite a couple of times in my life where teachers/professors/mum/dad have commented on the following:
One of the most common errors made by students during exams is failing to read, understand and follow the examination instructions!
The first instance however where I fully understood what this meant was with the age old IQ question of "Read this passage in full and then answer the question below" There you are reading dutifully along and starting to count passengers, add up and subtract numerous numbers etc and already anticipating the question and taking far longer to read than you should just to get to end with a simple question as the bus driver's name (Right at the top of the paragraph normally)...
While I cannot guarantee that you may not still fall into this trap, I can provide examples of some excellent products for children and adults alike to improve instruction following skills.
